JC-Smart is a free lifestyle app developed by JAPAN CABLECAST INC. for Android. The app provides regional information for cable TV operators and municipalities. It is designed to help you in disaster prevention by delivering real-time weather information linked to your current location, evacuation alerts, and push notifications for J alert.
The app features evacuation advisories and instructions, shelter locations, Civil Protection Information (J alert), water level alerts for well-known rivers, announcements, event information, earthquake information, tsunami information, eruption information, tornado warnings, and sediment-related disaster warning information. However, please note that information is not displayed in local government areas that do not deliver the information to the river flood information (L alerts).
With the shelter search feature, you can easily search for the nearest shelter from your current position and get directions and route guidance. JC-Smart also has a "safety registration" and "safety confirmation function" that helps you prepare for disasters and enables you to confirm your safety during a disaster.
The app also has a "shelter list" that records over 130,000 disaster shelters established by local governments nationwide.
